SingaporeDebbie is a distinguished design leader with over 15 years of experience in the complex systems arena, where she has applied human-centered design methodologies to tackle a spectrum of public and social issues. She is a proponent of experiential learning, believing in the power of purposeful experiences to inspire others in the field of design. Debbie’s mission is to effect transformation through design, striving to deliver tangible impacts aligned with her vision for positive change.
Currently completing her PhD studies with the National University of Singapore’s Division of Industrial Design, Debbie’s research focuses on design thinking leadership within public organisations, reflecting her dedication to advancing the field. With her distinctive facilitation style, which seamlessly blends systems, critical, and design thinking, Debbie empowers individuals from diverse backgrounds to engage in the design process with confidence and enthusiasm. Her versatile approach enables her to connect with audiences ranging from politicians and public servants to grassroots activists and individuals at all stages of their change journey. Debbie previously serves in the Human Experience Lab of the Public Service Division, Prime’s Minister Officer. She was also the Centre Director for DesignWorks Singapore, an initiative to embed design thinking in Singapore Polytechnic and consulting for Singapore’s Small and Medium size Enterprises.
Debbie is currently an Associate Trainer with the Civil Service College where she coach public sector leaders in Design Leadership.
