Sarah leads our Melbourne Studio and brings deep expertise in facilitating co-design engagements that traverse policy and technical environments. She has dedicated the last 15 years (across both government and corporate contexts) to improving the lives of Australians, whether through policy, technical or design interfaces. Her background is diverse, having piloted and implemented social policy projects with the Australian Department of Employment for almost a decade before transitioning to architecture and eventually human-centred design.
For the last 3 years at ThinkPlace, Sarah has led strategic engagements to positively amplify social impacts for clients such as the Australian Communications and Media Authority, CSIRO, ARENA, SA Power Networks, the University of Melbourne, and the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Planning and Water and Environmental Protection Authority.
Sarah is a skilled researcher and visual communicator, as well as a dynamic facilitator. She has a strong bias toward action and outcomes rather than process, and draws from a range of experience designing and facilitating social innovation labs such as ARENA’s A-Lab and the global UNLEASH program.
